The Vallejo family opened Vallejo’s Deli in 1983 serving Sacramento’s midtown area with the finest Authentic Mexican Food, rated number #1 in Sacramento. In the Spring of 1992, the Vallejo family opened Vallejo’s Restaurant, expanding their Mexican cuisine to the downtown area’s business community and local residents, offering the same attention to detailed preparation. Shortly after the family expanded to add yet another location in the South Side Park neighborhood of downtown and continue serving Sacramento’s finest Authentic Mexican Food in Northern California. Eventually, the Deli had to close due to an unfortunate accident. Still, it will always be remembered as the location where it all started, operating out of the downstairs of an old classic Victorian home with only two tables, four chairs, and a bench outside.
